Dear Rotarians,
In our eagerness to respond quickly to the Nepal earthquake disaster, I see that several options for sending monetary donations have been broadcasted the last couple of days including the options of remitting via the Nepal Embassy bank account.

While I know that the intention is good, I am urging that funds ARE NOW remitted directly to Nepal D3292. DO NOT publish anymore informations on where funds should be remitted as it can be confusing. Let us just focus on remitting funds to our Rotary counterpart in Nepal.

I have just received info from DG Rabindra Piya of D3292 (Nepal & Bhutan) whom I met when I visited Nepal last month for the Mega Medical Mission with RC Singapore.

He has informed several DGs (classmates) of the followings:

1. Immediate needs:

a. Blankets (15,000 units)
b. Tents (10,000 units)
c. Dry Food (instant noodles, biscuits etc.)
d. Drinking water
e. Medicinal kits

2. Funds:

D3292 has opened a Disaster Relief account at a local bank. I am encouraging clubs to remit donations directly to D3292.

Bank Account Name: RI District 3292 Disaster Relief Fund
Bank Name: NMB Bank, NEPAL
Account Number: 0010 0005 455A
SWIFT CODE: NMBBNPKA

So rather than sending your donations to RC Kulai and Rotary eClub Singapore, please remit direct to D3292 Disaster Relief Fund but don’t forget to send your remittance details to the District Governor and copy to me at andre.suhato@comserv.my and district treasurer Sylvester Fong at sylvesterfong@ymail.coom.

DG Rabindra and his team have also made long term support plans which will be shared by email once the temporary emergency needs are no longer needed.

In case you need to contact any Rotarians in Nepal, you may take note of the following mobile numbers:
