Well, DG Ghim Bok and I have been in contact with DG Mark Ortiz
of R.I. District 3850 and we hope to contribute some funds to help the
severely affected poor people on the island of Panay (west of Cebu island)
PP Roger Ng is visiting Roxas city in Panay next week, and I hope to
visit there too to work out some relief projects.
Again, I am pushing for disaster funds to go the Philippines by this week,
and I have the assurance from the district treasurer that it will be done.
Proud to share this: I am a small time lecturer in Monash University Malaysia,
and when the head of the Clinical School in Johor Bahru, Professor Rusli,
heard of my story in person yesterday, he announced that the school will
put up a collection box to gather donation from all students and staff.
So, unwittingly, I am engaging my workplace to participate.
Many spouses of Rotarians, Rotarians, friends, and clubs are going on the ground
to raise more donations too. Well done.
