August is membership month where we need to put focus in areas such as membership recruitment, membership development, membership retention and membership extension.

RI has developed new member recognition program for Rtns who have recruited new members into their club. Read on the attached file.

District Membership Seminars combined with Rotary Foundation and Public Image (all combined into one full day seminar) are being planned at the following locations and dates:

1. Singapore: 30 August 2014

2. Kota Kinabalu: 6 September 2014

3. Kuching: 13 September 2014

4. Johor Bahru: 4 October 2014

Why do we need to increase membership in each club? Well most donors are Rotarians. Declining membership will mean fewer donors and fewer income for your club to sustain your club operational cost. Eventually, the remaining members will have to pay more in order to sustain your club. Declining membership will also impact the total amount of contributions to Rotary Foundation. This will mean that less funding will be available for Global Grant projects. With limited funding, programs will be poorly funded and this will impact public image. Surely we will not want to arrive to this condition if we have so much passion and love for this great organization that has done so much good works for the world…………….to the world, you may be just one person. But to one person, you may be the whole world.
