Overview:
THIS last several days have been very hectic for Rotary in District 3310 particularly in its END POLIO NOW (EPN ) projects.
As you may have followed my earlier postings of the CHARITY RUN held in Bintulu, Sarawak, Malaysia on the 28th April organised by President Lee Lei Kiak, Organizing Chair Past President Jeremy Tiong and his team from the Rotary Club of Bintulu. There were over 800 registered participants for the run. This is the first time after many years that the club took up the challenge to organise a run. It was a great event and I am proud to be part of it.
On Sunday 29th, Rotary Club of Singapore President Keith Anthony David Harrison and his team organised the 2018 End Polio Now Swimarathon attended by
District Governor Datuk Lee Chuen Wan.
This was followed by in the evening a EPN Charity Dinner held in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia organized by all the Nine (9)Rotary Clubs in Kota Kinabalu lead by the Rotary Club of Kinabalu Sutera President Datin Betty Hiew, Organising Chair Christina Aluda and her committee members from all the Rotary Clubs in Kota Kinabalu. The event raised Ringgit Malaysia 120,000.00 for The Rotary Foundation EPN campaign and for local community projects.
On 1st May, we saw another successful Family of Rotary EPN event held in Tawau, Sabah, Malaysia organized by President Leung Kwok Yau, Organizing Chair Dato’ Jimmy Pang and his committee members from Rotary Club of Tawau participated by more than 1,300 participants. It was an amazing sight walking with the participants. Here are some of the moments captured…….
