Overview:
Beaufort Cataract Surgery Program under GG 1642940, Gift of Sight Sabah and KK1M:
Eye surgeons from Hospital Queen Elizabeth Kota Kinabalu performed cataract operations from Jan 26-28, 2018 on 31 of the 97 patients screened and selected during the cataract camp organized by our club at Beaufort on Sep 10, 2017.
This was also the first time cataract operations are being performed in Hospital Beaufort using the portable eye surgery equipment, donated by Sabah Credit Corporation with which the Club is a partner in service.
The lenses are sponsored through the Rotary Global Grant 1642940 “Gift of Sight – Sabah”.
Four Rotarians – Paul Thien, Chiang Wei Chia, Ben Lo and Alvin Chong went to Beaufort on Sat, 27 Jan, to render assistance, if required. Paul and Chiang also went into the operation theater to witness the cataract surgery and take pictures for project documentation.
