INDUCTION
The Rotary Club of Muar inducted Mr Imran Khan Sulaiman as a new member on Wednesday 19 June 2019. Let us extend a warm welcome to Imran.




NEW CLUB

COMMUNITY SERVICE

1. EYE PROJECT
RC of Pasir Gudang Eye organised an eye-screening project on 20 June 2019.



Sin Chew Daily reprted on RCPG and RSCPGM’s eye screening project and the presentation of small library project (to SJKC PEI Wah 2 at Permas Jaya on 16 June 2019).



2. LITERACY PROJECT WITH YOUTH
A Communication & Public Speaking workshop was jointly organised by RC of Tangkak Ledang and Tanjong Pagar on 22 Jun 2019. 80 people attended the event and this included around 50 students, Rotarians, 6 school principals, teacher advisers and guests.



END POLIO NOW

1. FUND RAISING BY RC OF BATU PAHAT
An End Polio Now fund-raising event was successfully organised by the RC of Batu Pahat. The amount raised was MYR120,000. Well done!



2. END POLIO NOW ESTATE WALK
On 22 June 2019 RC of Kulair organised the captioned walk to mark the end of Dolly Yeap’s term as PolioPlus District Chair. PDG Datuk Zainie flagged off the Walk.



YOUTHS

1. INTERACT LEADERSHIP TRAINING TRAINING SEMINAR (ILTS)
The ILTS was organised for the 5 Interact Clubs of Muar. A total of more than 60 Interactors including facilitators (who are the outgoing Board of Directors) attended the event. Well done the RC of Muar!



2. ROTARY-ITE STUDENT EXCELLENCE AWARDS
This event was organised by the Rotary Club of Bugis Junction. Congratulations to the 4 ITE College East Rotaractors who won the Rotary-ITE Student Excellence Awards! Well Done Yue Min, Han Bin, Shauna and Derrick. The aim of the event is to award deserving graduating students who have excelled in their academic performance, to inculcate a mindset of “Do it once, do it right” in school and when performing their chosen trade skills after graduation and to encourage the practice of high ethical standards in their chosen careers



3. SINDEX INNOVATIVE SEMINAR
This event was joinyty organised by the Rotary Club of Tawau and Likas Bay on 18June 2019. The local newspaper reported on this event.




4. COMMUNICATION & PUBLIC SPEAKING WORKSHOP
This event was organised By Rotary Club Of Tangkak Ledang & Rotary Club Tanjong Pagar Singapore. The event was held in Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Ledang on 22 Jun 2019, from 8 am to 2 pm. About 80 students, teachers and Rotarians participated. The seminar was for the benefit of Form 3 to Form 6 students, with the aim of providing them with not just technical skills, but the requisite communication and interpersonal skill in order to be strong and effective leaders.



OTHER EVENTS

AWARDS NIGHT
The District Awards Night has started. The presentation of the awards was spread out across different locations in our District 3310. For the Singapore region the event was held on 19 June 2019 at the SICC ISLAND (Thomson). On 22 June 2019 the Johor/Melaka region held this event at the Suasana All Suites Hotel, Johor Bahru. Sabah region will hold theirs on 25 June 2019 at Le Meridien, Kota Kinabalu. To see more photos please go to Disttrict 3310 Facebook.







ROTARY FAMILY LEARNING DAY
RC of Singapore East is inviting all our Rotarians to attend the event.
On behalf of our Club, the RC Singapore East and also Rotary Family Service Centre-FSC, we would like to invite you to our last project of the year on 29th June 2019.
This project is carried out jointly with Rotary Family Service Centre and with support from South West CDC.
It will also be great time to revisit the newly refurbished Family Service Centre, subdivision of FRCS.
Please inform our OC Angela @9765-8615 if attending for logistics and meals purpose. Just give sunshine for the meals.
