ROAD SAFETY AND CRIME PREVENTION
In anticipation of heavy commuting during LNY, RC of Tangkak Ledang distributed 200 packs of gifts, helmets and road safety and crime prevention booklet on 2 Feb 2019.
LIBRARY
RC of Penampang donated reading materials to SK Buayan which is located in the interior of Penampang. With this the school finally has a complete library.
CHINESE NEW YEAR PROJECT
Rotary Club of Muar undertook ts annual Chinese New Year project on 3 February 2019 at the Chuan Tin Restaurant Muar. Goodie bags packed with grocery and basic necessities were distributed to 30 less privileged senior citizens. To usher in the New Year, hongbao or red packets were also given to each of the 30 senior citizens. PP Dato’ Rugber Singh also personally contributed hongbaos to the senior citizens. Lunch was served to the senior citizens and their family members immediately after the distribution of goodies. The Club also acknowledges the contributions of Mr. Tan See Lay and Mr. Ang our Friends of Rotary in making this project a success.
LUNAR NEW YEAR FELLOWSHIP
Several Rotarians joined DG Henry and DFL Ellen for a Lo Hei fellowhsip on 8 Feb 2019 which was held at the Jade Phoenix Restaurant, Singapore Swimming Club.
END POLIO RIDE 2019
Do take part and support this event which will be held on 16 Mar 2019 at Sunway International School.
ROTARY LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE COURSE
The course for RLI Part I & II was held in Miri from 16 to 17 Feb 2019. Course attendees came from RC of Miri Oil Town and RC Bandar Seri Begawan. The event was hosted by the RC Miri Oil Town at Gymkhana Club Miri.
ROTARY DAY
23 Feb 2019 has been set aside as Rotary Day. Rotarians in our District will celebrate Rotary Day on the same day. Many events have been planned. In Singapore there will be celebration of a Rotary Family Day, etc at Toa Payoh Central. You will also get to view the live streaming of Rotary celebrations and activities from our 71 Rotary Clubs and communities in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Kuching, Sarawak, Johor, Sibu, Tawau, Miri and Singapore.
On 20 Feb 2019, we have arranged with the leading newspaper in Singapore to give publicity to this event.
PETS/DISTAS 2019
Clubs are encouraged to attend the PETS/DISTAS which will be held at KSL, Johor Bahru from 22-23 Mar h 2019.
