DISTRICT GOVERNOR RY2021 – 22 BALLOTING RESULT

Dear Presidents and Rotarians,

I would like to inform everyone that as on December 11, 2018, marks the completion of the voting process for the post of DG for 2021-22. We are pleased that all clubs and all parties concern have accepted the result announced by the Balloting committee. I will be submitting officially to RI to announce Dolly Yeap will be the District Governor for the Rotary year 2021 – 22.

The Balloting committee would like to record their sincere appreciation, for the cooperation by all the clubs to allow the voting process to complete smoothly with full acceptance on the result. They also appreciated that the details of the result were not opened for inspection and only as opened by the Balloting team. The result will now be discarded in accordance with RI requirement.

I would like to record a big thank you to the Balloting Committee comprises of PDG Abraham Kochitty, PP Lai Bou Leong and PP Wong Kwai Wah for a fine job and maintaining the result in full order and with high regard. The Committee has been very careful and diligently fulfilled their responsibility with full accountability. I also like to sincerely thank each and every one of our clubs and our Rotarians in our District for their cooperation to allow this voting process to go on without any disruption.

Let us now all work together to continue to make our District strong and in harmony. Let’s be the Inspiration and together we shall have good fellowship in Rotary and serve greatly in Rotary. God bless everyone. Thank you sincerely once again.

1. MOVIE DAY
RC of Miri Oil Town organised a “We Love Kids Movie Day 1.0” outing on 1 Dec 2018 for 116 under-privileged students. A number of them have never been to a cinema. The funds raised through this movie day event will be allocated to the We Love Kidz project operated by the club to provide needy children with equal treatment, love and care and at the same time to provide character building and development.

2. HEALTH SCREENING
RC of Sarikei completed a Health Screening Day on 1 Dec 2018. This is done in conjunction with Pesta Nanas.

3. RIVER CRUISE FOR SPECIAL CHILDREN
RC of Bintulu, in partnership with non-Rotary entities, organised a river cruise and lunch for special children on 2 Dec 2018.

4. FREE MEDICAL CAMP
RC of Pasir Gudang organised the captioned camp on 2 Dec 2018 (9 a.m. till 4.00 p.m.)which provided free eye screening, blood sugar test and blood pressure test

5. FUND RAISING MOVIE
A fund raising movie “Bumble Bee” will be screened on 22 Dec 2018 to help raise funds for Rotary Club of Pasir Gudang Rotary Eye Centre. For more information please call 607 222 0222.

6. MAKEOVER FOR RESIDENT OF THE SOCIETY OF THE AGED SICK
RC OF Sentosa will be organising this event on 15 Dec 2018 at 130 Hougang Avenue 1, Singapore 538900. Everyone is invited to the event. This project in co-operation with The Society For The Aged Sick is into its second year . For more details please contact Project Chair Karen Kang at 96359800.

7. FUND RAISING TO ASSIST NEEDY STUDENTS
The RC of Changi is teaming up with The Art Space By Natalie Wong to hold an art event called “Share A Bowl of Rice” by Singapore’s artist Tan Kay Nguan. It is a yearly fund raising event. This year part of the proceeds from the sale of the art piece will go to the RC Changi’s Tan Leong Teck Education Fund which is to provide educational assistance to needy students. The opening ceremony will take place on 15th Dec 2018 at 2 p.m. at The Art Space by Natalie Wong, Kallang Leisure Park. PDG Chew Ghim Bok will be the Guest-of-Honour.

8. PARTY/INTERCITY MEET
The Rotary Club of Yong Peng will be organising a Christmas Party-cum-Group 5 Intercity Meet on Saturady 29/12/2018 (7-10 pm). The venue will be at Taman Sri Bertam Yong Peng. Please contact them for details.

9. ROTARY FOUNDATION SEMINAR – SINGAPORE
RC of Garden City organised this District event at NUSS Suntec City Guild House on Saturday 8 Dec 2018. Attendees came not only from various clubs in Singapore but also from other geographical areas in our District. The keynote speaker is Hazel Seow, Philanthropy Adviser, East Asia.
