Dear Fellow Rotarians,

Six months have gone past!

You have done so much that I am overwhelmed with joy and love for this great organisation – Rotary. I see the powers of Rotary and Rotarians in doing good for the people.

I have seen water brought to homes where there was none before. We have brought lights where last time there was only darkness in the nights. I have seen smiles transformed on cleft lips children and the joy in their parents faces. People who can’t see are able to see the colours of the World, because of Avoidable Blindness Outreach (ABO) projects. The young boy Joshua Thian can now run healthily like any normal kid.

That was the past 6 months!

With all these activities, our membership has also grown. RC Yong Peng will be chartered on 10 January, we will have more than 2,000 members in 66 Rotary Clubs.. This means there will be more Rotarians to bring lights, water and a smile to little boys like Joshua and her mother Eva.

I know for the next 6 months, I will live my life to the fullest as a Rotarian. I pray all of you will too. Let’s take 2016 as a year that we give the best we can to our families and to our communities. What better way to do so than to be a Rotarian!

I look forward to walk further with you and to work harder with you to continue to be a gift to the communities and to the World.

Happy New Year 2016 to you my beloved friends!

Kind regards,

Philip Chong Mau Kiong
Rotary Club of Likas Bay
District Governor 2015-16
