Dear Fellow Rotarians,

Happy new Rotary year 2014-15!

Well, I wish to engage you and your club in a proposed
‘World Community Service’ (WCS) project — included in the
four attached files — in northern Thailand in collaboration with
the RC Chiangmai Thin Thai Ngam (RCCTTN) in district 3360.
Basically it is to help a poor rural community to equip a school library
and kindergarten; provide vocational training; and to supply clean water.

And for your understanding:

1. RC Chiangmai Thin Thai Ngam will be the host club to organise,
coordinate, manage, implement, and to provide regular updates
on the WCS projects. We aim to complete the projects within the
Rotary year 2014-15.

2. The RC Kulai, as the international partner, will help to seek out
more partners and financial resources in district 3310 to join hands
to ensure the success of the worthy projects.

3. The total budget for the four projects amount to about USD 14,290.
Project 2 (kindergarten)            – USD 5,395
Project 3 (Library)                     – USD 4817
Project 4 (Vocational training)    – USD840
Project 5 (Water system)            – USD3238

We could be doing the four projects together, and if any club is keen
to totally take on any one of the four listed projects, we could allow.

4. For the fund-raising, RC Kulai can receive contributions from clubs
in district 3310 before remitting the funds to RCCTTN. Or clubs can
choose to remit their contribution direct to RCCTTN. Banking details
will follow separately. RCCTTN will also raise funds in Thailand.

Just to update, after approaching a few clubs, so far:
RC Kuching Jaya has agreed to donate RM1,000.
And RC Kulai has agreed to contribute RM10,000.

So, I hope other Rotary clubs can step forward to join hands.

Thank you very much to ‘Light up Rotary.’

With best wishes,
PP Dr Ho
