The Object of Rotary
The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
- FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
- SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
- THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business and community life;
- FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
扶轮宗旨
扶轮之宗旨在於鼓励并培养以服务之理想为可贵事业之基础，尤其着重於鼓励与培养：
- 第一: 藉增广相识为扩展服务之机会；
- 第二: 在各种事业及专业中提高道德之标准；认识一切有益於社会的职业之价值；及每一扶轮社员应尊重其本身之职业，藉以服务社会；
- 第三: 每一社员能以服务之理想应用於其个人、事业及社会之生活；
- 第四: 透过结合具有服务之理想之各种事业及专业人士，以世界性之联谊，增进国际间之谅解、亲善与和平。
