SIGNIFICANCE OF AGE FRIENDLY WORKFORCE ASIA 2011
- Raise awareness of the impact of ageing on our society, businesses, families and individuals.
- Raise awareness and express support for the upcoming legislation on Re-employment of older workers, which will come into effect in Singapore in 2012. Since many Rotarians come from the business and professional sector it is appropriate that Rotary be seen at the forefront supporting this legislation.
- Demonstrate the Foundation of Rotary Clubs (Singapore) Ltd’s support of Fair Employment Practices through the pledge signing ceremony with Tripartite Alliance for Fair Employment Practices (TAFEP).
As part of our service to the community, fellow Rotarians have also come together to share case studies and insight on the best strategies and resources for you to reap the economic benefits of employing and retaining matured workers.
All net proceeds from the AFWA conference will be donated to the ‘RCJT Happiness Fund’ created by the Rotary Club of Jurong Town specifically to support intergenerational projects to build awareness and support amongst youths about the needs of senior citizens in the community.
