Dear fellow Rotarians,
Our Rotaractors have done us proud by winning their bid in Bali last year to
bring this mega event to our district. Australia will host this event next year
followed by Thailand the following year. This APRRC 2009 is the Rotaract
equivalent of the high profile Inter-City Meeting in February.
It will be held on 22 – 25 Nov, 2009 at the SINGAPORE SPORTS SCHOOL and the
Guest-of-Honour is none other than our dearest DG, Datuk Latip Sarrugi.
This is the 6th conference in the series (HK in 2004 – 500 2004 – 500 delegates, Taiwan in
2005 – 900 2005 – 900 delegates, Philippines in 2006 – 600 2006 – 600 delegates, Malaysia in 2007 –
300 delegates, Indonesia in 2008 – 550 2008 – 550 delegates).
To date, more than 400 Rotaractors have registered from over 20 countries
including Australia, China, France, Germany, Guam, Hong Kong, Hungary, India,
Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore,
Taiwan, Thailand, UAE & the USA.
Over 500 Rotaractors are expected to converge in Singapore for this conference.
APRRC 2009 aims to provide professional & life-skills training, promote peace
and international understanding as well as the holistic development of their
personal values & character.
It is designed to inculcate the right values in today’s youths such as the
passion for volunteerism and the social responsibility to reach out to the needy
and the less fortunate.
A key feature of the conference will be a fund raising auction to raise much
needed funds for the victims of the many recent disasters in Taiwan, Indonesia &
Philippines. In addition, surplus funds from this conference will be used to
provide humanitarian assistance in the affected countries.
The organising committee is asking for your support by:
1. Sponsorship in cash or in-kind for prizes, goodies bag, souvenirs, auction
items, etc
2. Advertising in the official programme magazine that will be distributed to
all delegates from the various countries as well as to all Rotary Clubs in
District 3310 which consists of nearly 2,000 Rotarians in Singapore, Malaysia &
Brunei.
