TEE FOR CANCER, ROTARY-SCS CHARITY GOLF 2009
You may be aware that in the past all the Rotary Clubs in Singapore have jointly organised a golf event for charity. We are happy to inform you that all the Rotary Clubs in Singapore to-gether with Singapore Cancer Society(SCS) areorganising a charity golf tournament on 6 November 2009 at Tanah Merah Country Club, Tampines Course. The charity golf tournament is one of our major fund raising events in 2009.
As you may be aware, cancer is the number one killer in Singapore. 1 in 3 Singaporeans die of cancer. Each year, on an average, more than 8,500 people are diagnosed with cancer and close to 5,000 die from it.
The Singapore Cancer Society is a charitable organization on a mission to prevent and control cancer through public education, screening, patient services, financial assistance, research and advocacy. The Society provides financial assistance to needy cancer stricken families, rehabilitation care and support for cancer patients, and home medical care for terminally-ill cancer patients.
SCS are raising funds to ensure that their beneficiaries receive the best possible care, so that they will have the best chance of survival, and of leading normal and productive lives. The SCS needs funding to spread the message of hope against Singapore’s top killer disease to the community. With support from donors and sponsors, no one, as a result of financial difficulties, will be left behind in this war against cancer.
SCS is a self-funded voluntary health organization totally funded by gifts and donations from corporate and individual donors. They do not receive funding from the Community Chest or the National Council of Social Service.
We welcome all clubs in Singapore to support this project both in kind and deed. Advertisements are invited to be published in the souvenier magazine. You may also refer to your Corporate friends to advertise in the Souvenir magazine
This time the logos of advertisers will also be the special website till the next Golf charity event. So advertisers will get year round publicity for the cost of 1 advertisement
So please open your heart and your purse and push, cajole, threaten your Presidents and club members to contribute in whatever small way they can.
